Sandra Suther, PhD is Division Director and Professor in Economic, Social & Administrative Pharmacy in the College of Pharmacy & Pharmaceutical Sciences, Institute of Public Health. She has over 20 years’ experience conducting community-based participatory research with a focus on social determinants and inequities in health care. Her research includes racial and ethnic disparities in access to genetic technology, as well as concerns about the misuse of genetic testing, and distrust in the medical system. Dr. Suther is the community outreach and engagement core leader for the NIH/NCI funded Florida-California Cancer Research, Education & Engagement (CaRE2) Health Equity Center as well as the NIMHD/NIH funded FAMU Center for Health Disparities Research (CHDR) Research Centers in Minority Institutions (RCMI) and serves as Co-Investigator for the FAMU RCMI COVID -19 Vaccine Hesitancy project. Dr. Suther has been evaluating health programs and projects for 22 years, serving as evaluator for 17 funded programs.
