Bio


Dr. Arlesia Mathis is an Associate Professor in the Florida A&M University, College of Pharmacy and Pharmaceutical Sciences, Institute of Public Health. She has been teaching for 17 years.  Her teaching experience includes both graduate and undergraduate students in the areas of Health Administration, Public Administration, and Public Health. Her research interests include Minority Health, Maternal and Child Health, and Older Adults.  Dr. Mathis has received funding from the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation, the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation, the National Institute for Minority Health and Health Disparities, and others.  She has authored articles in the areas of primary care access, maternal and infant health, health disparities and aging. In addition to her academic experience, she has over ten years of state government experience.  She is a member of Delta Omega Honorary Society in Public Health and was named COPPS- IPH Teacher of the Year in Public Health in 2017.
