These awards are to encourage and reward excellence, innovation, and effectiveness. The purpose of awarding teaching (for delivering instructions in-person, online, or hybrid settings) scholarly activities and service is to recognize members of the faculty who have distinguished themselves among their peers both within and outside the University.

Indicators of significant impact by the candidate's teaching, scholarly activities and service are essential and markers of distinction often specific to the candidate's discipline or area of academic pursuit. The selected individuals must have unassailable credentials worthy of the Faculty Senate award.
Florida Agricultural and Mechanical University recognizes its outstanding teachers annually from throughout the campus by presenting academic awards available to all colleges offering undergraduate and graduate instruction.
