About Me

Mr. Jonathon K. Stevens is a Visiting Assistant Professor at the Florida A&M University (FAMU) School of Architecture + Engineering Technology (SAET). Born in the Midwest of the United States, he spent his formative years in San Diego, California. The ecological citizenship of Southern California and its proximity to the ocean, mountains, and deserts helped to define his strong respect for the natural environment. After earning a Bachelor of Architecture from Woodbury University, he worked for over fourteen years for many of the top architecture and design firms in Southern California. In 2014, Jonathon moved to Detroit to receive a Master of Architecture degree from Cranbrook Academy of Art. Following graduation, he continued to work in the field of architecture while also teaching design studios and lecturing about the practice of architecture. Along the way, Jonathon has also developed an art and design practice that believes in being present, fostering elements of sustainability, cultivating relationships, and being responsible for redefined cultural values.
