Title III Executive Director

Greetings! I am Erick Akins, Ph.D. I have served as Executive Director of Title III Programs at Florida A&M University (FAMU) since February 2020. It is a pleasure and honor to work for the "TOP PUBLIC HBCU." FAMU is fortunate to receive Title III funding authorized under the Higher Education Act of 1965. Title III funds are used to strengthen Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCU), Fostering Undergraduate Talent by Unlocking Resources for Education Act (FUTURE), and Strengthen Historically Black Graduate Institutions (HBGI) Programs. The Office of Title III has been charged with administering Title III dollars received by the University. Programs are funded through the Office of Title III to assist FAMU in the retention and graduation of students. At FAMU, great things are happening everyday!
