The Division of Research offers many trainings.

Directions for completion of Online FCOI training:

  1. Go to www.citiprogram.org (if you currently have a username & password, please note that once you login select Florida A&M University courses, add a Course or Update Learner Groups and continue to step #4)
  2. Create a username and password.
  3. Select FAMU as your institution.
  4. Answer the following question:

    Do you conduct research in any of the following settings?

    Choose all that apply
  • Yes, I conduct research with live human beings, human samples or with data derived from human beings.
  • Yes, I conduct research or teaching activities that utilizes live, animal subjects or tissues derived from live animal subjects.
  • Yes, I need/want to take the course on Responsible Conduct of Research (RCR).
  • Yes, I need/want to take the course on Financial Conflicts of Interest.
  • Yes, I need/want to take the course on Biosafety Training.
  • Yes, I need/want to take the course on US Export Control.

If you are a Principal Investigator and submitting a grant for funding you must complete the Financial Conflict of Interest on line training before submission of your grant to the funding agency.

In order to place you in the appropriate course we need to know if you have previously completed the Basic Course in the Protection of Human Research Subjects.

  • FCOI Disclosure Form, to be completed by May of every year for the preceding calendar year.  This is to be completed after you have taken the FCOI training (see instructions for training).   Once the training is complete email the sign FCOI form to the Office of Sponsored Programs at sponsor@famu.edu or fax to (850) 599-3952.  
  • Responsible Conduct of Research (RCR) is required to submit for most federal agencies.  
  • Essentials of Research Administration Training is required to provide PI’s and staff with pre and post award administration and roles and responsibilities.  
  • Essentials of Grant Proposal Development is required for PI’s, students and staff interested in submission of proposals to federal, state, and private agencies.
