Welcome to the FAMU Office of Government Relations, and thank you for your interest in the FAMU Legislative Internship Program.


 

The FAMU Legislative Internship Program provides FAMU students with hands-on opportunities to experience democracy in action with the Florida Legislature during the legislative session. Responsibilities may include public engagement, legislative research, constituent management, community outreach, attending legislative meetings, scripting talking points and newsletters, writing bill summaries, assisting in culminating press releases, and administrative tasks as required.

 


 

Please note that this internship is for students enrolled in PUP 4947 for the Spring 2024 semester to be considered for this internship program. The internship is expected to begin on January 9, 2024, and end on March 7, 2024. Students must possess a 3.0 GPA, be able to work 20 hours per week, have exceptional oral and written skills, be punctual, professional, proactive, organized, and handle fast-paced work environments for consideration. Selected interns must complete all fall orientation and training workshops before the internship begins in the spring. A scholarship is offered to students who successfully complete the program and class before the end of the spring semester.
