Below you will find information on the faculty engagement opportunities including the Sabbatical and Professional Development Leave Program, Faculty Travel Grant Program, and the Faculty Boost Fund Program. All programs use the FAMU RPT Interfolio platform to submit your application.
The Sabbatical and Professional Development Leave Program provides tenured faculty members (Sabbatical Leave) and professional staff including non-tenured earning faculty members (Professional Development Leave) 100% release time from their normal assignment of responsibilities for one or two semesters. Please review the SPDL Guidelines for detailed instructions. You must submit an "Intent to Apply" form by 12 noon on Friday, October 10, 2025. The application deadline is 11:50 pm on Monday, October 13, 2025. See application submission instructions below.
The Faculty Travel Grant (FTG) Program provides full-time regular faculty members with financial assistance to travel to collect research or present research findings. The maximum award is $2000. Only allowable expenses as specified by FAMU's Travel and Expense Policy will be reimbursed. The maximum award is $2,000. Funding is awarded on a first-come, first serve basis until all allocated funds are encumbered. Please review the FTG Guidelines for detailed instructions. The Application will be completed entirely within the Interfolio platform. However, you must first submit an "Intent to Apply" form. See application submission instructions below. Application must be received at least 60 days prior to anticipatd international travel and at least 45 days prior to anticipated domestic travel. All travel must be completed by May 31st.
The Faculty Boost Fund (FBF) Program provides full-time regular faculty members with financial assistance to support their research program or improve their teaching effectiveness. The maximum award is $2000. Only allowable expenses as specified by FAMU's Travel and Expense Policy will be reimbursed. Funding is awarded on a first-come, first serve basis until all allocated funds are encumbered. Please review the FBF Guidelines for detailed instructions. The Application will be completed entirely within the Interfolio platform. However, you must first submit an "Intent to Apply" form. See application submission instructions below. All award funds must be encumbered by May 31st.
All applications will be reviewed using the Interfolio RPT platform. The process begins with the submission of an "Intent to Apply" form. You will receive an automated email indicating a "case" has been created for you in Interfolio. Please send an email to academic.affairs@famu.edu if you do not receive an email within three (3) business days. After your case has been created, review the "Submitting your Application into FAMU's Interfolio RPT Platform" document for step-by-step instuctions on how to access Interfolio and submit your application.
