Loryn May
Student Body President & University Student Trustee
Loryn May is a fourth-year mathematics education scholar from Pensacola, FL. She is the Student Government Association President for the 2024-2025 academic year. Loryn is excited to take on the role of University Trustee and Student Body President. She aims to make a lasting impact on her university through a kind and caring approach to leadership.
May has previously served as the 53rd Student Senate President for the Florida A&M University Student Government Association. During her first semester, her peers elected her to serve as a Freshman Senator in the 51st Student Senate, where she was then elected Vice-Chairwoman of the Student Relations Committee. As a sophomore in the 52nd Student Senate, Loryn was appointed chairwoman of the Elections and Appointments Committee. She was tasked with duties such as revising election codes, overseeing campus elections, and bringing voter awareness to the student body. Loryn was awarded Vice-Chair of the Year for the 2021-2022 academic year and Sophomore Senator of the Year as well as Committee of the Year for the 2022-2023 academic year.
Apart from participating in student government, she is very involved on campus. Loryn is a Spring 2024 initiate of the Beta Alpha Chapter of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated. May is also a Phi Delta Kappa International member. She served as the 2022-2023 Miss Gold for the Beta Nu Chapter of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Incorporated, and a resident assistant for University Housing. Loryn is also a member of FAMU Elite Dance Squad. She lives by Psalm 46:5 “God is within her, she will not fall: God will help her at break of day."

Dakarai Williams
Student Body Vice President
Dakarai Williams is a 4th year psychology scholar from Macon Georgia with notable music industry experience With The Otis Redding foundation, Broadcast Music Incorporated, and independent shows throughout his career. His mission is to expand upon a Long lasting Homecoming experience, strategic leadership, and increased alumnae engagement during this year’s term.

Zayla Bryant
54th Student Senate President
Zayla Bryant is a third- year business administration scholar hailing from Atlanta, GA. She currently serves as the 54th Student Senate President for the 2024-2025 Academic year at Florida A&M University.
Bryant has previously served in the 52nd and 53rd Student Senate. She served in the Elections and Appointments committee where she carried out confirmations of members of SGA, revised election codes, oversaw elections, and assisted with voter awareness efforts. During her sophomore year, she was also tasked as being a member of the acting Electoral Commission for the 2024 Miss FAMU elections. She concluded her sophomore year term with her committee being acknowledged as the Committee of the Year.
Alongside her duties and responsibilities within the Student Government Association, Bryant is heavily involved on campus. Zayla is a Spring 2024 initiate of the REAL Beta Alpha Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Incorporated. She is also a Freshman Year Experience Peer Mentor serving in the Office of Freshman Studies. She currently serves as the 2023- 2024 Miss Black for the Beta Nu Chapter of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Incorporated, and she holds membership in Atlanta Club and FAMU College Democrats. Zayla has always made it a point to do meaningful work with long lasting impact. She looks forward to leading in this academic year with resilience, discernment, and efficacy.

Treyvious Copeland
54th Student Senate Pro-Tempore
Treyvious Copeland is a first year Doctor of Pharmacy candidate from Chattahoochee, Florida. He is the Student Senate President Pro-Tempore for the 54th Student Senate for the 2024-2025 academic year. Treyvious is thrilled to take on the role of Student Senate President Pro- Tempore. He strives to serve the university by cultivating a sense of growth amongst the senate that can be emulated by future legislators and legislation.
In Fall 2023, his peers elected him as a Freshman Senator in the 53rd Student Senate, where he had the pleasure of serving as the Vice-chairman of Elections and Appointments committee. During his tenure as a Freshman Senator, he passed legislation pertaining to election code revisions, community service initiatives, incentivizing unpaid entities like Campus Activities Board, etc. Treyvious was awarded Vice-Chair of the Year and Committee of the Year for the 2023-2024 academic year.
Apart from participating in student government, he is very involved on campus. Treyvious is the President of Black Men in Medicine and a Spring 2024 Inductee of the FAMU Chapter of Progressive Black Men, Inc. He is also a member of the FAMU Chapter of Academy of Managed Care Pharmacy and a Gates Scholar (Cohort VI). Additionally, due to Treyvious's hard work and dedication outside of campus, he was awarded "Gadsden County's Volunteer of the Year” in 2022 and was presented the "Key to the City of Chattahoochee" in 2024. He lives by 1 Timothy 4:12 "Don't let anyone look down on you because you are young, but set an example for the believers in speech, in conduct, in love, in faith and in purity." Treyvious is committed to a continuous sense of improvement and development and serving all things FAMU!

Jaylen Butler
Chief Justice of the Student Supreme Court
As a fourth-year Supply Chain Management major from Orlando, FL, Jaylen Butler is honored to serve as Chief Justice for the 2024-2025 academic year. Following in the footsteps of his parents, both proud alumni of Florida A&M University, Jaylen is deeply committed to upholding the values and traditions of our esteemed institution.
Prior to his current role, Jaylen gained valuable experience and insight serving as an Associate Justice, which has prepared him to lead with fairness, integrity, and dedication. He is excited to represent the student body and work tirelessly to ensure that every voice is heard and respected within our university community.
Jaylen's goal as Chief Justice is to foster a just and inclusive environment, promoting transparency and accountability in all student government affairs. He looks forward to collaborating with his peers and university officials to make a positive impact and continue the legacy of excellence at FAMU.
Jordyn Bew
Associate Chief Justice of the Student Supreme Court
Jordyn Bew is a fourth-year Criminal Justice scholar with a pre-law minor hailing
from Joliet, Illinois. In the upcoming academic year of 2024-2025, she will serve
as the Associate Chief Justice of the Supreme Court. Jordyn is dedicated to deepening
her peers' understanding of the judicial branch and its significance on campus.
Confirmed as an Associate Justice in the fall of 2022, Jordyn has since held roles
such as interim Associate Chief Justice and Senior Justice. Her contributions were
recognized with the Trailblazer award in spring 2023. Throughout her tenure, Jordyn
has diligently reviewed documents, presided over trials, and contributed to numerous
legal decisions and opinions.
Beyond her governmental duties, Jordyn has actively engaged in various organizations.
She is a proud member of the J.W. Hatchett Pre-Law Society and played a pivotal role
in chartering the Black Female Future Attorneys (BFFA), serving as its inaugural Membership
Chair from 2022 to 2023. Additionally, Jordyn was part of the inaugural class of FAMU’s
Climate Policy program and subsequently served as a salaried communication liaison
for the program's second class. She is also a dedicated member of Phi Alpha Delta
Law Fraternity International, where she held the position of Treasurer during the
2023-2024 academic year. Off-campus, Jordyn works as a Legal Specialization & Education
Assistant at The Florida Bar.
