Professor Demetrius Smith brings over a decade of experience teaching both in-person and online at a range of esteemed colleges and universities across Florida. His expertise lies in U.S. government, state & local government and public administration. Among his many responsibilities, the most rewarding aspect of his work is guiding and mentoring students.

His passion for politics has been a lifelong pursuit. From an early age, Professor Smith was drawn to discussions about government and politics. As a high school student, he attended city and county commission meetings during election seasons, eagerly following political developments. This passion guided his academic path, leading him to earn a B.S. in Political Science and a Master of Public Administration from the renowned Florida A&M University. He is now in the final stages of completing his Ph.D. in Educational Leadership.

Beyond the classroom, Professor Smith is an enthusiastic sports fan, with a particular love for football, basketball, baseball and golf. Golf, especially, holds a special place in his life, and he spends much of his free time sharpening his skills on the course. While his scores may remain a mystery, he’s always prepared with his clubs, shoes, and a spare golf shirt and socks in the car—ready for any opportunity to play.
