Dr. Butler’s background includes providing direct patient care through primary nursing,
developed and provided education to parents and staff. In addition, Dr. Butler continued
working in the specialty of neonatology as a direct patient care provider in Level
III at Regional Centers and eventually Neonatal Nurse Case Manager of 42 bed NICU
providing coordination of inpatient services, developed comprehensive discharge planning
and managed complex discharge needs for infants with chronic illnesses. Dr. Butler’s
nursing career has included the roles of State of Florida Infant Screening Coordinator
and contract manager for pediatric programs that provide services for infants and
children with life-long chronic illness. Dr. Butler enjoys teaching future nurses
about nursing care that is caring, compassionate, understanding, and utilizing critical
thinking to ensure safe care.
