About Me

Welcome to class. My name is Dr. Annie Gainous Thompson or Dr. T. I’m from Tallahassee. I’ve worked in the criminal justice/law enforcement field for 37 years with a focus on criminal intelligence and crime analysis.

I am a proud 1981 graduate of Florida A&M University. My MS degree was obtained from Tiffin University and my PhD from Northcentral University. I enjoy interacting with students and teaching at my alma mater is extra special. It is a rewarding experience to help students achieve and excel academically.

Staying busy is in my DNA. Most of my affiliations are related to criminal justice, law enforcement, and community service. I am involved with the International Association of Crime Analysts where I serve as Training Curriculum Committee Sub-Chair. It is important to incorporate education with professionalism and vice versa.

I have two sons, Dominic and DiCarlo. I’m a Gemini and love all genres of music. Dancing and singing are in my soul. My specialty is gospel music. I love singing in my church choir. My favorite musician is the royal purple one, Prince. Right. I’m a fanatic of all sports, even golf. I’m a diehard Dallas Cowboys football fan. Any crime show or procedural justice show will have my interest, especially the entire Law and Order franchise, The Equalizer, How to Get Away with Murder, and Criminal Minds, to name a few.

As I often tell my students, “Don’t limit where your mind can go because it limits what you can learn.”
